Sunday, a day of rest. And so it is for many of our café folk in Bendigo – and rightly so! They need a break too, as most of our cafes are owner-operated. There are some crazy people who get up at the crack of dawn to serve us on a Sunday, and they are:

House-made crumpets from the Bendigo Corner Store Cafe.

Bendigo Corner Store Cafe 305 View Street
Our favourite. We don’t want to say too much more as we’d still like to get a table. Fantastic daily specials, and they use organic ingredients wherever possible. Try and nab a spot under the front verandah, if we don’t get there first. Breakfast served from 8am until 4pm.

Sim’R 236 Hargeaves Street
HEAPS to choose from; everyone catered for.
Open from 8am-3pm on Sunday.

Cortille 322 Lyttleton Terrace
A Bendigo favourite – open from 8am-3pm and they have an ALL DAY BREAKFAST. You may have to wait for a table as this joint is very popular. Their fair-trade coffee hits the spot and they have a modern menu with a few vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Like!

Gorgeous backyard at Percy and Percy.

Percy and Percy Cnr Hargreaves & Baxter Streets
A newcomer to the Bendigo cafe scene serving Coffee Basics brews and a more modern approach to breakfast fare. Check out their gorgeous garden.
Open from 8am-3pm on Sundays.

Update! Cafe El Beso
87 View Street
We didn’t realise they were open on Sunday. Silly us.
Real food. Delicious. Great chai.
Open from 10am-3pm.

Brewhouse Coffee Roasters 402 Hargreaves Street
Another go-to for awesome coffee and a modern menu. Our staples are fruit toast or grilled saganaki. Open Sunday from 8am-4pm.

Wine Bank on View 45 View Street
Breakfast is served from 8:30am-11:30am on Sundays with a seasonal menu featuring poached fruit, pancakes (three toppings to choose from) and your choice of eggs with all the trimmings. View their menu here.

#Hashtag Public Bar
Sister operation to Brewhouse located at Kennington Village in Condon Street.
Breakfast served from 7am until 11am.

Quarry Hill Cafe & Larder 19 Carpenter Street, Quarry Hill
Open Sunday from 8am.

Twenty2 22 Williamson Street
Cafe Twenty2 offer, amongst other delights, a big breakfast (eggs any which way, tomato, spinach, bacon, hash brown, mushroom & sausage). Lavazza coffee and T2 teas. They also cater for all dietary requirements. Open from 7:30am.

The Exchange Shop 11 Bendigo Bank Centre (enter via Bath Lane or High Street)
An All Day Breakfast with all the usual suspects. Open from 10am – 4pm

Bath Lane Cafe 13 Bath Lane
Open Sunday 8:00am-3:30pm.

The Green Olive Cafe 11 Bath Lane
This popular cafe is now open from 8:00am-4:00pm on Sundays.

Green Olive Warehouse Eve Court, Golden Square
Out in the back blocks, the Green Olive Warehouse serves rice pudding and corn stacks from 8am. Noice.

Finders Keepers 20 Mitchell Street
Open from 8.30am until 4:00pm.

Not so much a cafe, but the All Seasons Hotel (171-183 McIvor Road) offer an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast on Sunday from 10am, which includes scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans, muesli, cereals, juices, fruit salad, yoghurt, toast and various breads. Groups should book.

Key: Changes from our 2014 update.
